What you’ll find here

Cybersecurity & Malware
Computer viruses, ransomware, data breaches and online threats.
How the stories are made
1
We follow trusted sources
A small number of established publishers and research centers.
2
We summarize each story
A short summary in our own words, written with AI assistance from the source article.
3
We link to the original
The reporting belongs to its publisher. Follow the source link at the end of each story for the full detail.
Where the name comes from
The name goes back to a newsletter that tracked computer viruses. The site later followed the news from around the world through the Covid-19 years. It has now been rebuilt to cover both subjects side by side.
The Virus Informer is edited by Mark Bishop, who wrote the original Virus Informer newsletter for McAfee. He is the author of How to Build a Successful International Web Site and Web Programming Unleashed.

Thank you
Thank you, Charilyn Arconado, my dear wife, who has helped in so many ways.
Mom and Dad, whose prayers and love sustain me.
Matthew, my dear son whom I love very much. I am grateful to God for him and proud of his character. My prayer is that the Lord will always lead him, fill his life with His wisdom and grace, and draw him ever closer to His heart. (See James 4:8).
To all my supporters, a big thank you! And a special thanks to FastBuyHosting.com, which keeps this site’s lights on.
